Daniela Rothenberg, MS, LPC

Hello! I’m Daniela Rothenberg. I’ve thought about what I would look for in someone’s bio - someone who is relatable, experienced, skilled, warm, authentic, passionate, humble, honest and direct, a lifelong learner, and understands what it’s like as a client to go through this healing process . . . as well as someone who can handle uncertainty and complexity! I strive to embody these qualities for my clients.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and hold a Master of Professional Counseling along with a Bachelor of Psychology. With a specialization in developmental complex trauma, my experience in private practice and in multiple treatment facilities includes working with both process and substance addictions, trauma, and a wide variety of co-occurring issues and symptoms.

As a mind/body, trauma therapist, I take a holistic approach encompassing a variety of modalities that support resolution, rewiring, regulation, and reconnection to our authentic selves. I have additional trainings in attachment-focused, relational EMDR, and structural dissociation, as well as NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model), which emphasizes mindfulness and the relational component in the trauma healing process. My training also includes neuroplasticity, nervous system polyvagal work, and somatic-based practices.

So, what are some things you can expect when working with me? We will learn about the Neuroplasticity Rewiring Process. Trauma can profoundly dysregulate the nervous system and disconnect us from our life force. I have particular interest in polyvagal theory and assisting clients in restoring nervous system regulation and rewiring patterns. I not only enjoy helping facilitate change and growth, I also like to teach people HOW to change, learn to work with their system, and embody internal awareness, attunement, and regulation tools and skills to navigate the complex, rewiring process.

We will take a deep dive and explore the roots. People tend to seek help due to symptoms affecting their lives – but what is driving the symptoms or problems? Many symptoms and problematic patterns are rooted in unresolved trauma. Let’s take a curious approach, do a deep dive, explore the root causes, and how we get in our own way, which ultimately leads to awareness into our automatic, often unconscious patterns, beliefs, and behaviors. I frequently hear comments from clients such as “I never realized . . . I didn’t know . . . I couldn’t see it . . . I keep doing the same thing over and over….” We all have blind spots, and we don’t know what we don’t know! Let’s explore with compassion and curiosity, learn as we go, and rewire these patterns!

Some fun facts about me: I am an animal lover with a small zoo of dogs, cats, and birds. As an Arizona Native, I don’t go out in the sun… how does that work?! I am the one with the umbrella and long sleeve shirt! I think I am equally analytical and creative (I used to sing professionally), have done my own personal healing work, and am a lifelong learner. I love to play games, love to laugh, enjoy connecting with others on the journey, and always can find levity to counter the intensity. I find laughter is one of the best forms

of self-care. We need to be able to laugh and not take ourselves too seriously!

I am always grateful to take this empowering journey with people. Do you believe you deserve to heal? If so, congratulations on making the courageous decision to step into this life-changing process. You’re worth it!
