Welcome Mike Dean!
We are so excited to have Mike Dean, LMFT join our group! Mike comes to us with over 10 years of experience working with individual and couples with trauma, dissociation, anxiety, depression, and relationship distress. Mike has a passion for learning and is trained in EMDR, structural dissociation theory, and EFT with plans to continue with those trainings. He also has created a safe, allied space for LGBTQIA+ clients. Mike's experience with and knowledge of trauma gives him a unique perspective and ability when working with couples.
Mike is currently accepting cash pay and Aetna clients. We are hoping that he will soon be in-network with BCBS and UHC as well. To schedule an appointment with Mike, you can reach him directly at mike.dean@therapyemail.com or contact our office at vivifywellness@gmail.com.
Mindfulness with Lanita: New Group Staring in July!
Always looking to add more that will benefit our clients, Vivify Wellness has partnered with mindfulness coach and trauma-informed yoga instructor Lanita England to help us bring a trauma-informed mindfulness group to our clients.
Studies on mindfulness have shown numerous positive effects on mental well-being. Mindfulness is helpful in improving learning and memory, emotional regulation, self-referential processing, and perspective taking.
Our virtual, mindfulness group is co-facilitated by Lanita England, CMC, Trauma-Informed 200ERYT, RPYT and Laura Fontaine, MS, LISAC, LPC. We hold the groups in 8-week cycles. The next one starts on Tuesday 7/23/24 @ 6pm. We accept UHC, Aetna, and BCBS as well as self-pay. Email vivifywellness@gmail.com to be added to our roster for the next round of groups.
No Surprises Act - Good Faith Estimates
No Surprises Act - Good Faith Estimates
The federal government has enacted the "No Surprises Act" which began on 1/1/2022. This Act applies mostly to medical professionals and emergency settings but we lucky therapists have been included as healthcare providers. The Act is meant to prevent clients/patients from getting surprise medical bills from out-of-network providers. For example, if you go to the hospital for surgery, your surgeon might be in-network with your insurance but the anesthesiologist might not be and a few months after your surgery, a bill comes to cover the anesthesiologist's services.
While there are very few instances of this happening with therapists (in fact, I can't think of any time this might happen except in the case of insurance claim processing errors), therapists are being required to inform our clients of this Act and the "Good Faith Estimate". The Good Faith Estimate details the rates for services for clients who are not insured or not using their insurance and reminds them they could potentially save money by using an in-network provider. Eventually, Good Faith Estimates will be done for clients who are utilizing their insurance as well so stayed tuned for updates. Telehealth
Telehealth
Due to the success and popularity of teletherapy that we experienced during COVID, we at Vivify Wellness have decided to continue to offer teletherapy for those who prefer it. We have found that telehealth has provided flexibility and accessibility for people who might otherwise not be able to access quality, specialized, counseling services. We use Doxy.me and Zoom as the HIPAA-compliant online platforms to use for our sessions.
For clients using their insurance benefits, it is helpful to check with your insurance provider to ensure that telehealth services are covered by your plan. Please contact your insurance directly for the most accurate answer as to whether your insurance will cover teletherapy.
