My name is Maryann Potter and I am a Licensed Associate Counselor. I am passionate about strengthening children (ages 10+), adolescents, and adults by using techniques such as DBT and EMDR to help in their journey of recovery. I believe in using a nonjudgmental and empowering approach to help you improve your mental and emotional well-being.
I have over 20 years of experience in the fields of medical and emotional health. I have a particular interest in helping girls and women to reach their full potential. I founded and ran a stepmom group for five years in the Phoenix area. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Advanced Radiography with an emphasis in OB/GYN ultrasonography, and a master’s degree from Grand Canyon University in professional counseling.
My experience includes working with individuals and groups in crisis counseling, step-parenting, and trauma recovery. I use EMDR, Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), adolescent expressive therapy, and emotional resilience building to help individuals heal from trauma and adverse experiences.
In order to best preserve the trust and confidentiality of my child and teen clients and their parents, please note that I do not write letters to the court or for attorneys. I also do not make recommendations for visitation or custody arrangements. Before treatment, both parent’s signatures are required for children to participate in therapy.
